Perché miniaturizzare quando si può... ingigantire? Questo alla base della decisione di realizzare una versione 9 volte più grande di una scheda Arduino, che permettesse così anche ai bambini o a chi ha più difficoltà di cominciare a dilettarsi con l'elettronica. Ovviamente alla scheda bisognava abbinare dei componenti, tutti rigorosamente 9x e con contatti magnetici, quindi LED, resistenze e qualche sensore gigante da interfacciare anche con Scratch per elettronica oversized e semplificata.

Making fun with symmetries

The activities were designed for primary school students in order to get insights into geometrical concepts by exploiting simple arguments and specific games dealing with symmetries. In particular, “dynamical models”, softwares, and mirrors were employed. During the event, concepts have been progressively explained through the manipulation of materials, observation and subsequent mental and verbal reworking. Complex concepts like phase transitions or symmetry breaking phenomena in material science are explained using geometric figures. Connections between symmetries and geometrical properties of a figure are explained, in parallel to examples in material science, in a perspective of a multidsciplinary project.

It will be the result of the knowledge and skills acquired over the years by the Team members. Starting from the optimization of the external aerodynamics using specific algorithms, moving on to implementing an airbrake system designed to guarantee maximum precision in reaching the mission altitude, it will be made almost entirely of composite materials to ensure the best structural performance.

World Skate is the global governing organization for roller sports. Always very close to innovation, world skate continuously renews the areas of interest of the sports it governs. Innovation does not only concern the already vast world of wheels but also that of multimedia competition products (esports) in which world skate is among the proudest supporters. Along with this, however, world skate promotes a combination of real sports and digital sports which is always present at its events. Both the strictly digital and traditional parts will be present at the Maker faire venue. National and international athletes will in fact perform on the Half pipe which makes up the proposal together with 8 other stands.
